Remodeling of the cone-Off-BCs.
(A) The structure of the cone-driven Off-BCs as revealed by the HCN4 antibody shows that these cells appear to be relatively unaffected by the photoreceptor degeneration at p14 and p21. Nevertheless, by p35 there are abnormal structural changes. (B) By 6 months their numbers had been reduced and their morphology had been disrupted, but to a lesser extent than those of rod-BCs labeled by anti-PKC. Scale bar, 20μm.
