A, Glycosaminoglycan content of rat cartilage from knee joints was detected using Safranin O staining. The protein expression of UDP-galactose-4-epimerase (GALE) and UDP-glucose 6-dehydrogenase (UGDH) was detected in the cartilage using immunohistochemistry. All the sections were photographed using NIS-Elements software (Nikon, Tokyo, Japan). Scale bars, 100 µm.
