JIL-1 mutations lead to a decrease in the transcription of the telomeric retrotransposon immediately downstream of the P-element insertion (A and D), as well as in the overall HeT-A transcripts (B and E). Primers used to quantify overall HeT-A transcripts anneal at the 3’UTR region of the element (see M&M for more details). (C and F) correspond to a schematic representation of the telomeric retrotransposon/P-element transcript analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR in A and D, respectively.
