The synthetic data (the simulated shear flow between two infinite plates) is shown as a continuous line, with the recovered function indicated by dots. The solution resolved both positive and negative velocity directions from individual cross-correlation maps as illustrated in Figure 8. The normalized RMS difference between the synthetic data and the flow solution is 0.72%.
