Protection against B. pertussis challenge.
Groups of 5 BALB/c mice were i.n. immunized with 105 CFU of BPZE1 or BPZM2e-ΔFHA and challenged 4 weeks later with 106 CFU of BPSM. Seven days after infection, the mice were sacrificed and bacterial loads in the lungs were determined and are expressed as CFU/lung. The results are expressed as means ± standard errors. ***, p<0.001.
