Reference points are the mean of changes in body mass index. Adjusted for: sex, years between examinations, age, chronic diseases, smoking, Mediterranean diet score, energy intake, education, drinking pattern, sports activity, body mass index in 1993–97, waist circumference in 1993–97 and changes in waist circumference.
