Glycated serum (GS) inhibited Pdx-1 protein expression.

(A) INS-1 cells were treated with nonglycated (NG; control) serum or with varying concentrations of GS for 24 h and then harvested for western blot analysis. (B) INS-1 cells were treated with NG or 10% GS and harvested at the indicated time point for western blot analysis. (C) INS-1 cells were treated with NG or 10% GS for 4, 8, or 12 h. Cytoplasmic and nuclear protein was extracted, and then Pdx-1 determination was conducted.
