Holomycin is the amide N-acetylpyrrothine. In addition to thiomarinol, producer-bacteria generate a variety of fatty acyl pyrrothine analogues. The new hybrids created consist of pseudomonic acid A A with pyrrothine joined via an amide bond as in B to create the mupirocin pyrrothine amides C.
