Comparative gel retardation analysis showing the binding of increasing amounts of (A) HupBMtb (0–120 nM, lanes 1–12) and (C) HupBMtbN (0–1200 nM, lanes 1–15) to radioactively labeled ds DNA under low salt conditions (10 mM KCl) (sequences shown in Table 2). Dissociation constants (Kd) were also calculated (B) for HupBMtb and (D) for HupBMtbN binding to ds DNA. The Kd values are indicated as inset in the respective panels.
