Two functional orthologs, one from the outgroup (S. enterica subsp. arizonae) and one from the nearest ingroup, were used in multiple sequence alignments to calculate the relative sequence divergence rate for each pseudogene. Numbers on top of columns indicate actual counts. The dashed line represents the neutral expectation based on an exponential regression.
