Abstract

A new sol–gel titania based solid phase microextraction fiber for headspace sampling of aliphatic alcohols from non-alcoholic beer samples is introduced. The influences of fiber coating composition and microextraction conditions on the fiber performance were investigated. The proposed fiber is thermally stable up to 250 °C and under optimal conditions demonstrates fast sampling of alcohols with high sensitivity. Finally, aliphatic alcohols content of non-alcoholic beer samples were determined using headspace solid phase microextraction followed by GC-FID.
