Abstract
The Conference on Optical Fiber Communication (OFC) is the major North American conference on fiber optic technology and its communications and network applications. OFC'92 in San Jose, California, is the fifteenth in a series of meetings that began in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1975. The OFC Conference is cosponsored and organized by three societies: The Optical Society of America (OSA), the Lasers and Electro-Optics Society (LEOS) of the IEEE, and the IEEE Communications Society (COMSOC). OFC'92 also includes four preconference workshops for informal technical interchange: Fiber's Role in Video Delivery to the Subscriber, Theory and Modeling of Lightwave Systems, Gigabit Networks, and WDM Technology and Applications.
