The First Laser Ignition Engine Experiment (c.a. 1976)

Abstract

The first use of a focused laser beam acting as the ignition source for an I.C. engine is described. Experimental results show faster combustion, higher efficiency and extended A/F operation compared with a conventional ignition system.
