Ultra-compact, slow light enhanced, 160Gbaud de-multiplexing in a silicon photonic crystal waveguide

Abstract

We demonstrate error-free de-multiplexing of 160Gbit/s optical data to a 10Gbit/s data stream, exploiting slow light enhancement of four-wave mixing in an ultra-compact 96µm long, dispersion engineered silicon photonic crystal waveguide.
