Abstract: The recovery of TiCl4 from the slime forming in raw titanium tetrachloride by spray drying was studied.During spray drying process, the air worked as heating medium in laboratory, and argon worked as heating medium in work site.Experimental results show that the content of TiCl4 in the slime reduces from 55.3% to 1.8% by spray drying with the actuating pressure 0.5 MPa for the nozzle, and the intake pressure 0.15 MPa for the drying gas,at the temperature 350 ℃ and 125 ℃ in the inlet gas and the off-gas respectively. After spray drying,98% TiCl4 vaporizes from the slime and the recovery rate reaches 96%.
