Our culture everywhere feverishly pushes its wareswhich revert to trash that will never decline.There is no respite; every particle is infestedwith profit which devours us as we consume.

The candles in churches are electric, burning powerextracted from fuels which sully Creation.The light by which I write these lines does the same.Corrupted by comfort, we collude with what we abhor.

When, in the delirium of commerce, the sublimeis hawked to market the superfluous,that which is marvellous and hallowed is lost,until we are alone with need, and motion, and time.

Nuestra cultura nos abarrota en todas partes con sus productosque acaban en la basura que no terminará nunca.No hay respiro; cada partícula está infestadacon la ganancia que nos devora según vamos consumiendo.

Las velas en las iglesias son eléctricas, quemando electricidadque se extrae de los combustibles que manchan la Creación.La luz bajo la cual escribo estas líneas hace lo mismo.Corrompidos por el confort, conspiramos con lo que aborrecemos.

Cuando, en el delirio del comercio, lo sublimese trapichea vendiendo lo supérfluo,aquello que es maravilloso y santo se pierde,hasta que estamos solos con la necesidad, y el movimiento y el tiempo.
