RESUMEN:

En este artículo pretendo situar a la Cuba revolucionaria posterior a 1959 en un debate que cobró fuerza en el ámbito internacional en las décadas del 60 y 70: la relación entre el feminismo y la economía política, en particular la economía política marxista. Analizo las influencias y contribuciones del debate en la Isla a partir; la producción académica, concentrándome en tres ejes fundamentales: las vías de “emancipación de la mujer,” el lugar del trabajo doméstico y la relación acumulación-patriarcado. Sistematizo las principales contribuciones a dichos ejes distinguiendo dos periodos fundamentales, entre 1959 y 1990, y desde 1990 hasta la actualidad. Intento así provocar “el debate” sobre una temática que considero está aún ausente en el país, más allá de esfuerzos puntuales de personas e instituciones, y que es relevante para la construcción de una agenda feminista y para la elaboración de políticas públicas desde una perspectiva feminista.

ABSTRACT:

This article situates the post-1959 Cuban Revolution in the debate over domestic labor of the 1960s and 1970s, particularly the relationship between feminism and Marxism, especially Marxist political economy. I analyze the influences and contributions of Cuba to the debate throughout the academic production. My focus is on three central axes: the pathways to “women’s emancipation,” the role of domestic labor, and the relationship between accumulation and patriarchy. I divide the analysis into two periods, 1959–1990 and 1990 to present. In this, I provoke a debate on an issue still absent in the country, beyond particular efforts of people and institutions to make it visible: critical debate on the relationship between feminism and Marxism is crucial for both the construction of a feminist agenda and the elaboration of public policies from a feminist lens.
