Abstract: Study on the specificity of acupoints has attracted close attention of scholars at home and abroad, but lack of the intensive and systematic study using modern science and technology has led to the diversification of the research conclusion and caused controversies about whether there are differences between acupoints and non-acupoints and whether there is the specificity of acupoints. This article aims to explore the methods and directions of study on the specificity of acupoints in present animal experiments and clinical trials at home and abroad and provide possible methods and ideas for study on the specificity of acupoints and non-acupoints.
