Abstract: Based on the clarification of vertical lifting type landing gear retraction principle,a design method which complies the vertical lifting landing gear retraction mechanism is given. Lifting mechanism selection,structural design and parameters determination of its main component-the ball screw vice’s are the main considerations in this study. In order to ensure the rational of the design of the vertical lifting landing gear retraction mechanism,two main failure modes-static load failure and dynamic load failure of the main component of the lifting mechanism-the ball screw vice are analyzed and the reliability analysis model is established,then the reliability index is calculated.
