Abstract: Experiments of two assembled connecting columns and two cast-in-place column models under low cyclic loading and different axial compressive forces are carried out. The result testified that the anti-seismic property of this measure is not worse than the monotonic specimens and can substitute for the monotonic columns in practice. The finite element software ANSYS is used to verify the experimental result of the specimens. By the research on the mechanical characteristics of new connecting columns, the effects of related parameters on the seismic performance of the assembly column are summarized on the basis of numerical simulations. The proposals were put forward on practical engineering applications.
