In the field of life science, many experiments and analyses of cell is performed. One of the cell analysis focuses on cell stiffness. Cell stiffness depends on cell's status, thus it is important approach for cell analysis to measure cell tiffness. However, to measure the cell stiffness, it is necessary to manipulate microscopic cell and to measure nano or pico newton force. To solve these problems, cell stiffness measurement method by using two-fingered microhand has been researched. In this paper, automated cell stiffness measurement by using two-fingered microhand with micro force sensor is described. By measuring cell stiffness automatically, stable and reproducible measurement is realized.
