The objectives of “Research and Development Project for Innovative Thermal Management Materials and Technologies” conducted by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) is to redece unused heat mainly in industry and transportation sectors by highly efficient thermal management systems. These systems include heat strage, thermal insulation, thermoelectrisc and heat pump technologies. To aehieve higyly efficient system, development of innovative materials and mechanical engineering technlolgies is needed. The 18 private companies join in this project collaborating with the universities and the national iresearch nsutitutes. In this paper, the outline of the project is descrived.
