Abstract

We show that the optical field-field correlation function with frequency in a random medium is the Fourier transform of the time-of-flight distribution. This is demonstrated for light transmitted through a polystyrene slab containing titania particles by fitting the measured frequency dependence of the correlation function of fluctuations in intensity using the measured transmitted picosecond pulse profile.
