Advances in Models to Measure Soil Carbon: Can Soil Carbon Really Be Measured?

Soil organic carbon (SOC) is a valuable resource. It is a source of plant nutrients, it helps in forming aggregates in soils, it increases soil water and nutrient capacity, and it may even become a valuable commodity in the future. Many models are now being used to estimate changes in SOC with changes in farming practices and with potential changes from carbon sequestration.
