With the increasing demand for energy and the growing concern over climate change, there is a pressing need to improve the efficiency of energy consumption. Intelligent control is an emerging field that has the potential to significantly improve energy management. This chapter provides an overview of the techniques and applications of intelligent control for energy management. It begins by introducing the concept of energy management and discussing the role of intelligent control in improving energy efficiency, and then reviews the various types of intelligent control techniques, including fuzzy logic, neural networks, and evolutionary algorithms, and their applications in energy management. The chapter also discusses the challenges associated with the implementation of intelligent control in energy management, such as the need for accurate modeling and the potential for complex control systems. Finally, it concludes with a discussion of future directions in this area.
