ABSTRACT

Auction-based virtual resource allocation in the Metaverse is a method for effectively allocating virtual resources inside a virtual environment. This approach utilizes auctions to determine the allocation of resources, with the goal of maximizing resource utilization and minimizing resource wastage. The auction process involves multiple bidders competing for the same resources, with the winner being the highest bidder. Users can submit many requests at any given time using a pay-as-you-go basis, but only one request can ever be fulfilled. This situation is regarded as a “multi-requirement, single-minded scenario.” We show how resource suppliers can increase social welfare while preserving the system's integrity. To quickly obtain the allocation outcome and increase the social welfare of the virtual resource provider, we propose a heuristic solution to the resource allocation problem. Overall, the allocation and use of virtual resources in the future may be completely changed via auction-based Metaverse resource allocation.
