ABSTRACT
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an emerging global public health crisis. It is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and soon became a pandemic. The virus continues to emerge with new variants; therefore, effective long-term disease control and management are very critical for human health all over the world. Searching for drugs against the virus, SARS-CoV-2 has become an intensive research topic throughout the world. Bioactive compounds from natural sources are well recognized to have the ability to treat viral diseases and many possess immunoregulatory and anti-inflammatory activities. Theoretically, natural products are interesting candidates for alternative strategies against COVID-19. In this chapter, a summary of natural product-derived active compounds for the management of COVID-19 was provided to introduce several locally known classical ethnopharmacological regimens in the countries of Indochina.
