ABSTRACT

Marine microbes have extremely supreme power forr human health, welfare and environment. In the regulation of Earth’s climate, microbes play a vital role by their abundance and diversity. Marine microorganisms are the genesis of new enzymes when compared to plant- and animal-derived enzymes. Marine and terrestrial enzymes are highly differentiated in the factors, including temperature, salinity, pressure and lighting. Microbial enzymes from marine sources have got its diverse potential in industrial applications. Plenty of unique structures and active secondary metabolites have been derived from marine fungi. Endophytic fungi such as Halorosellinia sp. and Guignardia sp. habituating in the mangrove were isolated, and they act as potent anticancer agents that are derivatives of anthracenedione. The natural lactone that is isolated from the marine Bryozoan is bryostatin-1, which has both antitumor activity and immunomodulatory effects. In vitro antileukemic activity has been recorded in Dolastatin against various cell lines of lymphoma, human leukemia and on solid tumors.
