ABSTRACT

In today's healthcare, imaging is used for everything from diagnosis to surgery and follow-ups. Because most imaging modalities are digital, medical image processing must deal with massive data volumes and growing resolution. This text’s main themes are visual medical information and scalability to give effective and efficient responses to numerous linked challenges. Some major strains are personalized bioimaging, virtual/augmented realities in medical visualizations, multispectral/hyperspectral images, nanoimaging, and super-resolution. For end-to-end medical cyber-physical systems (MCPSs), image processing and visualization strategies must meet new expectations. Scalable, advanced hardware and software parallelizations can help.
