ABSTRACT

Musculoskeletal Diseases (MSD) and musculoskeletal injuries are one of the most important health problems worldwide. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2000, various kinds of injuries resulted in the death of 5.1 million people and accounted for 12% of disability-adjusted life years (DALYS) worldwide which is expected to increase over the next couple of decades as a result of technical developments. It is also becoming one of the major factors in health-related absence of work.

Forensic experts have a major role not only in the disability evaluation process but also in the investigation of musculoskeletal related deaths.
