ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the effect of the measurement process on the big data analytics is contrasted with the business intelligence perspective, highlighting similarities, differences, and the natural evolution of a set of terms and concepts. Also, the incidence of the IoT and data streaming on big data analytics is compared to the batch data processing strategy. Thus, the relationships among measurement, scenarios, and entities under monitoring are analyzed under the light of the analytics, considering their effects on the data quality.
