ABSTRACT

Every second complication of gynecological laparoscopy is preventable. In this chapter, we provide a comprehensive overview about incidence, risk factors, diagnosis and management of complications related to gynecological laparoscopy in accordance to the stage of surgery, concerned organs, and involved instruments. Finally, we emphasize the impact of the surgeon on the occurrence and prevention of adverse events, as well as the influence of the operation itself (with or without complications) on the surgeon.
