Erratum to: Treatment of achalasia: the short-term response to botulinum toxin injection seems to be independent of any kind of pretreatment

The Original Article was published on 13 August 2002

One year after publication of the work: "Treatment of achalasia: the short-term response to botulinum toxin injection seems to be independent of any kind of pretreatment" [1], institutional re-evaluation revealed an error in the methods section. The last sentence of the first paragraph of the methods section should read as: The manometric study protocol was approved by an ethics commmitte and the individual BTX injection protocoll was approved by an institutional review board. All patients signed an informed consent form.

We regret any inconvenience that this inaccuracy in the methods section might have caused and thank the editorial board of BMC Gastroenterology for the kind responsiveness and the possibility to publish an immediate correction.
