Role of Surfactant on the Ferromagnetic Properties of (Li, Mn) Doped ZnO Nanoparticles: An EPR Study
Nanoparticles of Zn0.96Mn0.03Li0.01O were synthesized by a low-temperature solid-state pyrolitic reaction, followed by a surfactant (AOT)-assisted calcination at 675 K. Transmission electron microscopy images and Rietveld refinement of X-ray diffraction
data revealed that these samples are monophasic with wurtzite structure. DC magnetization measurements of surfactant treated Zn0.96Mn0.03Li0.01O nanoparticles showed enhanced ferromagnetism compared to that of the untreated Zn0.96Mn0.03Li0.01O
nanoparticles. A distinct ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) signal observed in the EPR spectra of AOT treated Zn0.96Mn0.03Li0.01O nanoparticles further confirmed its ferromagnetic nature.
