Recently, generation of silver nanoparticles has been an active research area because of their excellent physical and chemical properties. These properties depend upon the size, shape and composition of particles. In this review, arc discharge process was introduced through which silver nanoparticle has been generated. The results of this review clearly demonstrates that the particle size and the production rate of silver nanoparticles basically depends upon the type of liquid medium through which arc is established and the composition of gas medium.
