Por que, com a criação intensiva de truta arco-íris, os locais poluem a região que tanto admiram? Para desenvolver esta pesquisa realizei uma pesquisa bibliográfica e uma etnografia multiespécies sobre/com uma família local que reside na zona rural de Itamonte (MG), Terras Altas da Mantiqueira, procurando investigar as redes de sociabilidades interespecíficas desses sujeitos, com ênfase nas relações entre os humanos e as trutas. Em suma, aqui busco oferecer uma abordagem sobre a poluição das águas a partir das categorias dos meus interlocutores e interlocutoras. Essa questão norteia minha etnografia, mas pelos caminhos também me dedico a descrever as relações dos meus interlocutores com outros bichos e plantas com os quais convivemos e os entrelaçamentos e conflitos das diversas ideias de natureza que coabitam essas montanhas, além de buscar trazer os pontos de vistas de seres mais-que-humanos para narrar essa história. Com cada vez mais trutários sendo criados em Itamonte (MG) desde a década de 1990, vem surgindo um fragmento do Antropoceno/Plantationceno nesta região que é em grande parte abrangida por unidades de conservação de proteção integral que tornam ilegais as práticas de manejo da paisagem das comunidades locais. Como se torna evidente ao longo do texto, os conceitos da biologia e da legislação brasileira para as categorias nativo/exótico, poluição e espécies invasoras não dialogam com os conceitos nativos.

Why, with the intensive farming of rainbow trout, do the locals pollute the region they admire so much? To develop this research, I carried out a bibliographical research and a multispecies ethnography about/with a local family that resides in the rural area of Itamonte (MG), Mantiqueira Highlands, seeking to investigate the interspecific sociability networks of these subjects, with emphasis on the relationships between the humans and trouts. In short, here I seek to offer an approach to water pollution based on the categories of my interlocutors. This question guides my ethnography, but along the way I also dedicate myself to describing the relationships of my interlocutors with other animals and plants with which we live and the interweaving and conflicts of the various ideas of nature that cohabit these mountains, in addition to seeking to bring the points of view of more-than-human beings to narrate this story. With more and more trout farms being created in Itamonte (MG) since the 1990s, a fragment of the Anthropocene/Plantationcene has been emerging in this region, which is largely covered by full protection conservation units that make landscape management by local communities illegal. As becomes evident throughout the text, the concepts of biology and the Brazilian legislation for the categories native/exotic, pollution and invasive species do not dialogue with the native concepts.
