Abstract

The anode supported fuel cells based on the proton conducting Yb-doped BaZrO3 were fabricated by the dry pressing and sintering at 1300oC. The proton conducting Yb-doped BaZrO3 with the addition of ZnO as a sintering aid were used as electrolyte and the cermet composed of Ni and Ba(Zr0.84Yb0.15Cu0.01)O3-δ were used for the porous anode substrate. The thickness of the electrolyte layer was about 60 μm and the maximum power density of the fuel cells was 51 mW/cm2 at 600oC.
