Abstract

Due to the need of developing point-of-care testing, measurement devices should be small in size and light in weight. In tradition, the measurement device usually need an additional bulky pump to inject the sample into it. So the requirement of additional bulky pump is the problem to be overcome when developing POCT device. In our work, the result successfully showed a multifunction micro-pump with low power consumption. This micro-pump possesses two critical functions, which are sample pumping and particle trapping. The most important of all is this micro-pump is quiet small within a total area of 1mm2, which means it has the potential to be integrated with corresponding sensors or other measurement devices. In summary, this micro pump is a good choice to develop as one part of POCT device with sample pumping and particle trapping (selecting) functions.
