Abstract

A wide range of applications increasingly requires sensors with high performance. By use of soft magnetic materials, the sensitivity of the aforementioned systems can be improved significantly. Here, one promising material is NiFeMo. Employing electrodeposition techniques, the material can be integrated into the sensorial system. However, the process of NiFeMo electroplating is still challenging. The plating parameters like current density and frequency have a great influence on both the composition of the layer and its morphology (like grain structure, volume of pores, inclusion of impurities). This in turn influences the magnetic quality of the layer. The paper identifies some of the factors determining the layer properties.
