A study of 762 various specimens of the resected stomach for gastroduodenal ulcers was conducted and the following results were obtained.

 1) The ratio of gastric ulcer to duodenal ulcer and to gastroduodenal ulcer is 3 : 2 : 1.

 2) Kissing ulcer is rarely found in gastroduodenal ulcer.

 3) Most duodenal ulcers are located in the anterior wall and in the lesser curvature as well, but 13% showed linear ulcer in the greater curvature.

 4) Most duodenal ulcers are not more than 0.99 cm away from the pyloric ring, and they are apt to easily cause pyloric stenosis and pyloric insufficiency.

 5) Ulcers with deep Ul-Ⅳ are observed in the majority of duodenal ulcers. In the case of gastroduodenal ulcer, most are fairly shallow Ul-Ⅲ ulcers.

 6) In comparison to the therapeutic coefficient of 11.5 of duodenal ulcers, that of gastroduodenal ulcers is higher, being 4.0.

 7) Regarding the depth of gastroduodenal ulcers, the most frequent combination of ulcers in the stomach and duodenum is Ul-Ⅳ and Ul-Ⅲ.

 8) Perforation in duodenal ulcers exists in ulcers with in the range of 1.0~1.99 cm away from the pyloric ring, but for gastroduodenal ulcer the perforation rate is 2.9%, which is quite low.
