Abstract

It is our great pleasure and honor to present the program of EMSOFT 2010, the 10th EMSOFT! This forum has grown from the invitation-only workshop held in Lake Tahoe in 2001 to an international conference that attracts hundreds of participants as part of the Embedded Systems Week (ESWEEK). As in the past several years, EMSOFT 2010 is co-located with the CODES-ISSS and CASES conferences, as well as a number of satellite workshops and tutorials, all part of ESWEEK 2010.

As in previous editions of EMSOFT, this year too we received submissions from around the world. A total of 89 full submissions were received, of which 29 were accepted for presentation at the conference and publication in the electronic proceedings and ACM's Digital Library. To cope withtiming constraints and allow for sufficient time for interactions and poster sessions during the conference, 19 papers were given a 30-minute presentation slot and 10 papers were given a 15- minute presentation slot. All accepted papers were given the same maximum number of pages in the proceedings. Each of the 89 submissions received exactly 4 reviews, a remarkable result, for which we are grateful to the members of the Program Committee. As last year, we conducted a rebuttal process, as well as an on-line discussion of the reviews and author responses, before reaching a final decision on the selected papers. The result is, we believe, a high-quality program that covers a wide spectrum of topics, including modeling and model-based design, verification and synthesis, scheduling and timing analysis, control and optimization, flash memory, and tools and applications from automotive, to multimedia, to wireless sensor networks.

A marketplace for cloud resources

Cloud computing is an emerging paradigm aimed to offer users pay-per-use computing resources, while leaving the burden of managing the computing infrastructure to the cloud provider. We present a new programming and pricing model that gives the cloud ...
