Abstract
ACM SIGGRAPH, the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Graphics, has sponsored an annual general conference since 1974. Over the past 35 years, the Technical Papers programme of the SIGGRAPH conference has become known throughout the world as the premier international forum for disseminating new scholarly work in computer graphics. Beginning this year, ACM SIGGRAPH is sponsoring a second general conference, SIGGRAPH Asia. These proceedings contain the 59 technical papers selected for SIGGRAPH Asia 2008, the first of this new series of annual conferences.
