Abstract
The performance of a diode-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YAG ceramic laser at 1123 nm with a Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber was demonstrated for the first time to the best of our knowledge. When the pump power was 11.2 W, the average output power of 0.8 W was obtained, corresponding to the optical conversion efficiency of 7.1% and slope efficiency of 7.5%. The minimum pulse width was 8 ns with the pulse repetition rate of 116 kHz, which was attained with a 1% output coupler at the pump power of 11.2 W.
