Abstract

Soluble polyboronphenylsiloxanes with different Si : B molar ratios have been synthesized under conditions of mechanochemical activation of polyphenylsilsequioxane and boronic acid. It has been shown that polyboronphenylsiloxane with the defined Si : B ratio soluble in organic solvents is formed under conditions of mechanochemical activation at the starting ratio between polyphenylsilsequioxane and boronic acid 2 : 1. It has been stated that the increase of the duration of the precursors activation to longer than three minutes is not reasonable due to destruction of the forming high-molecular product. Density of the polyboronphenylsiloxanes has depended on the presence of the crystalline phase in the polymer, starting ratio of the reactants, and the interplanar distance. Possible mechanisms of the occurring solid-phase reactions have been proposed.
