Abstract

A method for obtaining new donor-acceptor polyene chromophores, 2-amino-6-aryl-6-chlorohexa-1,3,5-triene-1,1,3-tricarbonitriles, was developed. Investigation of their optical properties revealed absorption maxima in a chloroform solution, ranging widely from 365 to 517 nm, while the emission maxima were observed in the 612–659 nm range. Luminescence in the solid state was found to occur in the range of 605 to 760 nm.
