Abstract

An assemblage of platform conodonts from the Anasibirites nevolini Zone has been identified in the Lower Triassic beds of the SMID quarry near the town of Artyom, and a new species Scythogondolella dolosa sp. nov. of the subfamily Scythogondolellinae was described from this assemblage. We initially regarded this species as a putative morphotype of the type species Scythogondolella milleri (Müller, 1956), but further examination of the same bed resulted in the discovery of several more specimens and a more detailed analysis of the specimens resulted in the identification of a new species.
