Abstract

The antioxidant effect of a mixture of 3-butyl-5-amino-6-methyluracil and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) was studied in a model system of initiated radical chain oxidation of styrene in chlorobenzene at 310 K. The maximum synergistic effect was observed at a ratio of ~0.75 between uracil derivative and BHT concentrations. The mechanism of synergistic action was discussed.
