High-temperature mechanical properties of carbon and composite carbon-carbon materials

Inorganic Materials: Applied Research Aims and scope

Abstract

The mechanical properties of composite four-dimensional C-C material are studied in the temperature range of 20–2800°C. It is shown that, owing to the material structure, the change in strength properties in this temperature range when tested along reinforcement axes X and Z is similar to the change in strength of the laminate pyrographite UPV-1, while the temperature dependences of the elastic modulus and ultimate strain are similar to polycrystalline graphite like VPP. Reasons for the peculiarities of the behavior of the temperature dependences of mechanical properties of the investigated material are given.
