Mammals of the Taymyr Peninsula (biodiversity and organization of communities)

  • Published:
Contemporary Problems of Ecology Aims and scope

Abstract

The biological diversity and population of mammals in the Taimyr Peninsula are discussed in this article. Data on the distribution of mammals in different natural zones and subzones of the northern part of Central Siberia are presented. Resource assessments of commercial, economically important, and rare species requiring protection are provided in annotated reports. The final sections are devoted to the ecological assessment of small-mammal communities inhabiting different natural landscape zones of the peninsula.
