Abstract—This article is an introduction to a special issue of Neurochemical Journal devoted to Russian schools in neurochemistry. This is the first issue in which the research associates and students of famous Russian and Soviet scientists, who were important for the development of neurochemistry, remember them and their contribution to the progress of science.
